Female MEPs to speak at 'Thriving Mná' event in Athlone this evening

Fine Gael MEP Maria Walsh is hosting an event in Athlone this evening (Tuesday) which will focus on women's issues to mark International Day of Action for Women's Health.

The ‘Thriving Mná’ gathering is taking place in the Dean Crowe Theatre and will be getting underway at 7pm.

Ms Walsh will be joined by several panelists, including special guest MEP Frances Fitzgerald.

Deirdre Berry of Athlone's Esker House Women's Refuge And Support Service will also be among the panelists at the event, as will Lesley Tully, Fintech Founder & CEO of Penny Fs Technologies, and Annie Costello of CROI & Global Heart Hub.

The event will look at the physical, mental and financial wellbeing of women. The issue of gender-based violence will also be discussed.
