St Brigid's quartet honoured in Club Players Awards

Four St Brigid's players have been selected on the football team of the year as part of the AIB GAA Club Players Awards for 2023/2024.

Brian Stack, Pearse Frost, Ruaidhrí Fallon and Ben O'Carroll are the four St Brigid’s chosen, with attacking ace O'Carroll also one of three nominees for the AIB GAA Club Footballer of the Year.

The other nominees are inspirational midfielder Conor Glass of All-Ireland champions Watty Graham’s, Glen and Kilmacud Crokes attacker Shane Walsh, who is also a Galway football star.

Glen have been honoured with six places on the final 15, while St Brigid’s are also well represented after winning the Connacht title and then coming agonisingly close in the All-Ireland final.

Stack, Frost and the versatile Fallon are selected in defence, with O'Carroll in the full forward line along with Darragh Kirwan (Naas) and Brian Hurley of Castlehaven, whom the Kiltoom side defeated in their All-Ireland semi-final.

The players will be honoured at a special function at Croke Park this Friday, where they will be presented with their awards by new GAA President Jarlath Burns.

The awards were selected by a panel of Gaelic games correspondents from across print, broadcast and digital media.
