Athlone Fire Station to host recruitment open day

People who may be interested in pursuing a career in the fire service are being invited to attend a recruitment open day which is taking place at Athlone Fire Station later this month.

The Athlone event will be held on Saturday, February 24, from 12 noon until 4pm.

It is one of four 'Fire and Rescue Service Recruitment Open Days' which are being hosted by Westmeath County Council over the coming weeks.

The others are taking place at Kilbeggan Fire Station (February 17, 12pm-3pm), Castlepollard Fire Station (February 24, 10am-2pm) and Mullingar Fire Station (March 2, 12-4pm).

The council said all were welcome to attend these events. "Call in and see what Westmeath Fire Service is all about, and if the fire service may be a career that interests you," it stated.

The local authority added that Westmeath Fire Service personnel would be available at the open days to answer any questions people might have.
