Athlone artist's 2024 calendar raises over €2,000 for hospice
The annual calendar produced by Athlone-based artist Anna Boles has this year raised €2,020 for the South Westmeath Hospice.
Anna has been making her art calendars, which include attractive paintings of well-known Athlone sights, for the last seven years.
She donates 25% of the money from each calendar sold to a worthy local cause, and in the last few years the hospice has been her chosen cause.
Over the seven years, Anna's calendars have now raised more than €12,000 for local charities.
"A huge thanks to all of the local businesses who stocked and sold my calendars this year," she commented.
"Also, a huge thanks to the businesses who sponsored the calendar this year, and of course the biggest thanks to all of you who bought one again this year.
"Your support is truly appreciated, and none of this would be possible without your support."
The proceeds from the calendar will be presented to Clare Lennon of South Westmeath Hospice this Thursday.
Anna expressed her gratitude to the calendar's sponsors this year, who were: Fusion Training Centre; Cunningham's Pharmacy; Topline Heavins & Euronics; Sean's Bar; Athlone Chiropractic Care ; Dean Crowe Theatre ; The Castle Inn ; Ganly's Athlone Longford Mountbellew ; Fernhill Athlone ; Grovelands Childcare ; Athlone & Castlerea Credit Union Limited; and the Shamrock Lodge Hotel.
She also thanked each of the businesses that stocked and sold the 2024 calendar, namely: Burgess Athlone; Fernhill Athlone; Topline Heavins & Euronics; Centre Perks; Midland Photo Shop; Athlone Chiropractic Care ; Ganly's Athlone Longford Mountbellew ; Beans & Leaves; Poppy Fields; Tuar Ard Coffee Shop; Cunningham's Pharmacy; Sean's Bar; and An Post, Athlone Towncentre.
