Company opens new car rental branch in Athlone
Europcar has opened a new branch in Athlone. It's part of a major expansion of services across the country by the car rental company, as part of a €3m investment.
The Athlone branch is located at Unit 3B Diskin Centre, Golden Island, and is one of three new branches opened recently. The others are in Drumnahoe, Letterkenny, Co. Donegal and Fahy’s Cross, Castlebridge, Co. Wexford.
The company said it is committed to making transport solutions available to even more people across Ireland in 2024, as a sustainable and flexible alternative to private vehicle ownership. The new locations bring Europcar’s nationwide network of branches in Ireland to a total of 26, and also includes access to over 1400 EV charging stations across the Republic of Ireland, for customers who avail of Europcar’s range of Electric Vehicles.
The company announced its car sharing service GoCar has also expanded its presence in the regions with the addition of four new bases in Tullamore; Mullingar; as well as new locations in Co Wexford in Wexford town and Gorey.
Commenting on the announcement, Paul McNeice, Head of Country for Europcar Mobility Group Ireland, said: “Europcar Mobility Group Ireland is committed to ensuring flexible and cost-effective mobility solutions are accessible wherever and whenever they are needed to help customers meet their daily transport needs including commuting, shopping, recreational trips, staycations and more.”
The full range of Europcar Mobility Services will be available at the new locations, for both private retail and commercial customers, including hybrid and electric cars, that are available to rent from just a day to longer-term use.
