Update - serious assault in Westmeath

The man (50s) arrested in relation to the serious assault on Patrick Street, Mullingar, Co. Westmeath has been released without charge.

Gardai say a file will now be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Investigations are ongoing.
