Latest Bean Feasa song and video released
The latest Bean Feasa video and song was released on YouTube at the weekend and it features Róisin Lennon.
With no background in singing or music aside from the sheer enjoyment of it, Róisin said she was "delighted and honoured" to take part in the Bean Feasa songwriting project, facilitated by Kara Richards and Bianca Fachel.
"I have always enjoyed singing along to the radio or just singing out in nature which I find myself doing more and more as I get older and feel more connected to the joy of music and song and its positive impact on not only humanity but all of the natural world. It is for sure one of our highest expressions as humans, capable of generating great connection and healing."
From day one, Roisin said Bean Feasa had her "totally hooked" as a very diverse group, many of which she hadn't met before the first meeting.
"Astonishingly, after a couple of hours sounding and brainstorming in five or six different languages our first Bean Feasa song was born.
It was a deeply enriching experience.
"We have continued to gather every month since and have formed a very cohesive working group as each of us gets the chance to write and record our own song I love collaborating with these women and we are part of each others songwriting and developing process."
She said her song written between the Irish and English languages came to life with the help and support of the whole group ,
"I am especially grateful to Aine O’Regan, a most eloquent Gaeilgoir, who helped me translate my words with meaning into the Irish language.
Kara came and did so much filming, recording and developing the song with me, Aine and Jenny, two other members and we had so much fun in the process," commented Roisin.
"The generosity of time and spirit within our group has blown me away.
I look forward to sharing my song with others i feel very proud of what as a group we have all created in the Bean Feasa project," she concluded.
