Additional Friday train from Dublin to Galway announced

Train users in Athlone are to benefit from an additional service between Dublin and Galway every Friday, Irish Rail has announced.

The company said high demand on the Dublin Heuston to Galway line had prompted the addition of the extra service, which will depart from the capital at 9.40am on Fridays.

This train is scheduled to stop in Athlone at 11.16, and to leave two minutes later, before arriving in Galway at 12.26pm.

Irish Rail confirmed that the new service would be starting from tomorrow (September 15).
