New season set to begin at Midlands Photography Club

Midlands Photography Club is hosting its 2023/2024 registration night on Wednesday, September 6, in St Ciaran’s Hall, St Mary’s Square Athlone at 7.30pm. It will also run its popular ‘Get in to Photography’ Course at the same venue commencing September 13 at 7pm. This course has been very popular with both beginner and improver photographers over many years.

Midlands Photography Club was established in 2007 by a group of enthusiastic photographers who wanted to share their interest in photography with other similar minded people in the area. Over the years the club has grown from strength to strength attracting members not only from the Athlone area but also from the counties of Galway, Roscommon, Offaly and Longford.

The club is affiliated to the Irish Photographic Federation (IPF).

The club has been successful in national competitions. Club members have had their work exhibited, won individual medals, and achieved honorary distinctions with both the IPF and the Royal Photographic Society (RPS). The club meets every second Wednesday in the Knights of Columbanus Hall, St Mary’s Square, Athlone at 7.30pm. Club activities include guest speakers, practical demonstrations, club outings, visits to and from other clubs, portrait shoots and various other activities. The club season runs from September to May.

New members are always welcome throughout the season.
