Three generations of Athlone's Kilmartin family recognised
Three generations of Athlone’s Kilmartin family – owners and operators of Athlone’s high-profile Kilmartin N6 Service Station and Grove Service Station – were recognised in features published in two of Ireland’s leading publications circulating amongst service station operators and motor fuels communities countrywide.
Praising the family for their ‘loyalty, vision, business acumen and entrepreneurial flair’, their fuels supplier, Valero Energy (Ireland) Limited, the company that markets fuel in Ireland under the Texaco brand, gave recognition to the drive of founder, father and grandfather, Tony Kilmartin who, in 1997, took the decision to build what was to become the modern, bustling Kilmartin N6 Service Station.
Sharing in the tribute was his son Damien who, alongside his late wife Rachael, had a pivotal role in steering the business to the stage it has reached today.
With them was Damien’s three sons, Matthew, Luke and Daniel, all of whom are active in the day-to-day management of the business and in overseeing the future development of the enterprise.
To mark their achievement and the unbroken relationship that the Kilmartin family and the Texaco brand have shared since the beginning, a presentation was made to the family by Valero Retail Sales Manager, Tom Naughton.
Speaking, Mr Naughton said: “We value the relationship we share with the Kilmartin family and are grateful for their support. Taken together, their N6 and Grove service stations are testaments to the values to which all three generations of their family subscribe.”
