IKEA to open new pick-up point in Ballinasloe

Scandinavian homewear company IKEA will open a new pick-up point for customers at Tesco Ballinasloe tomorrow (Friday.)

The collection point will be located in the car-park and the service is free for orders over €200 and €15 for orders under €200.

IKEA Market Manager in Ireland, Martyn Allan, said: "Collaborating with Tesco Ireland to test-and-trial convenient, accessible, and affordable collection services across key locations in Ireland is a real source of pride for us. We’re also delighted to finally be able to provide a free delivery option for customers for orders over €200. This partnership acknowledges the dynamic nature of the retail industry and provides an opportunity to bring IKEA closer to more people."

Head of Property Acquisitions and Asset Management, Tesco Ireland, Arlene Maguire, said: “We’re pleased to expand our partnership with IKEA Ireland to introduce new pick-up points in more of our car parks across the country. Some months into this partnership, we are seeing just how convenient this offering is for customers, who are pairing picking up their IKEA order with doing their weekly shop or picking up their Click + Collect order."

The 'Collect New You' service will also open in Tesco Newcastle West in Limerick and Youghal in Cork.

Tesco Clonmel in Tipperary, Tesco Tramore in Waterford and Tesco Distillery Road in Wexford will all see the service launched there in the coming weeks. The new scheme follows a pilot run in three locations in Kildare, Cork and Louth last May.

The homeware store has partnered with Tesco to offer order collection points at locations across the country as part of plans to make shopping easier for customers.
