WATCH: Martin's wonder save against Louth
He may have finished on the losing side, but net minder Trevor Martin pulled off a wonder save in Westmeath's O'Byrne Cup first round clash against Louth last night.
Martin played a huge part in The Down's championship winning run last season and appears to have carried his club form into the new inter county season. In the first quarter of last night's tie at the Protection and Prosperity Centre of Excellence in Darver, Martin displayed his shot stopping skills on a number of occasions, including a point-blank save to deflect an effort from Leonard Gray onto the bar in the fifth minute (See video below).
Despite Martin's efforts, Westmeath's young team were defeated on a scoreline of 1-8 to 0-9. Match report to follow.
