The fundraiser involved the company's colleague and partner, Chris Ball, having his head shaved. The support and donations received far exceeded expectations.

"We were delighted with the response from staff, clients and our wider community. As a firm, we are proud to further contribute to the fund and bring the total donation to €11,000," said RBK, in a statement.

On receiving the donation, Aine Corcoran, Clinical Nurse Manager in the Oncology / Haematology Department at Midlands Regional Hospital, Tullamore, said, "A heartfelt 'thank you' to you all those who donated to the fundraiser.

"We will endeavour to use these funds for patient personal care and personal care items, particularly for inpatients and also to help towards our efforts to build for increased capacity into our service to provide further facilities for our patients and their comfort."

Sporting a new look, Chris Ball commented, "This is a great cause and I am overwhelmed at the support that this fundraising initiative has received in the office, from clients, friends and family.

"It speaks volumes about how everyone has been affected by cancer in some way and if what I have done helps people attending the department in some little way that is fantastic and makes it all worthwhile."
