Tidy Towns to support wildflower projects

Athlone Tidy Towns is offering support to community groups and resident associations to develop wildflower projects in community-owned areas in Athlone.

It is an objective of Athlone Tidy Towns to encourage biodiversity and raise awareness of its importance to benefit nature, wildlife and the environment.

The Tidy Towns said that no matter what small area of ground that you might have at your disposal, you can now start to prepare it for your wildflower project.

It is offering professional advice to groups and associations. In addition, it will give some financial support towards specific seeds and plants purchased to develop the project.

All applications will be assessed, and an early indication of the financial support available will be given.
