Road resurfacing works continue on N55 at Ballykeeran

Westmeath County Council have reminded users of the N55 (Ballymahon Road) at Ballykeeran that road resurfacing works will continue on this stretch of road until 6pm this Friday, November 26.

The N55 (Ballymahon Road) is closed locally for the duration of the works and a signed diversion route is in place.

Southbound traffic is being diverted to the left along the L-1437 through Pearsonsbrook and Brittas to Corr Cross on the R-390 (Mullingar Road) and then south west along the Mullingar Road to join the N55 again on the Athlone side of Ballykeeran. The reverse route applies for northbound traffic.

The road resurfacing works, which began on Monday morning at 7am, are being carried out by Lagan Asphalt Ltd., working on behalf of Transport Infrastructure Ireland and Westmeath County Council.

Local access is being maintained for the duration of the works, and Westmeath County Council has apologised for any inconvenience caused.
