Local Palestine Solidarity Campaign gains momentum

The Athlone Palestine Solidarity Campaign group has campaigned publicly in Athlone recently following the atrocities in Gaza.

While the group said it has been a consistent voice in highlighting the key issue in the Middle East, it explained that the events of the past month have imbued the campaigners with renewed purpose in creating awareness around the realities of life for the Palestinian people.

While many of the cities around the country have been running gatherings, demos, and days of action; the Athlone group is hoping to add to the national movement while keeping Covid safety at the utmost of importance.

According to its social media, the group is keen to garner more support and are very much open to new ideas and members if anybody wants to get involved.

As the conflict reaches a ceasefire for the interim, the group is adamant that more needs to happen at a global level for meaningful intervention.
