Roscommon's 14-day rate is now close to Dublin's

Latest figures show that the 14-day rate of COVID-19 in Roscommon is now almost equal to that in Dublin.

Figures published by the Health Protection Surveillance Centre this morning have revealed that the 14-day rate of COVID-19 at midnight on Saturday in Roscommon had risen to 159.6 per 100,000 population compared to 162.6 per 100,000 in Dublin.

Roscommon remains the county with the fourth highest rate per 100,000 population in the country, behind Donegal (265.1 per 100,000) and Monaghan (177.6).

The national average is 107.1 per 100,000.

One area with a significant increase in recent days is Longford, which now has 132.1 cases per 100,000 in the past 14 days.

Westmeath has the tenth lowest incidence in the country, at 66.5 per 100,000.

The lowest is Mayo at 30.6 per 100,000.
