ESB says hundreds of local householders may not get power back until Saturday

Hundreds of homes in Athlone, Ballinasloe, and parts of South Roscommon remain without power again today as the clean up from Storm Ellen continues.

The ESB's powercheck.ie website indicates that it could be lunchtime on Saturday before the vast majority have their electricity restored.

The main local power outages now centre on Coosan where over 200 are still without electricity, Drumraney, and Creagh. Several other faults are also reported in and around Ballinasloe.

In Roscommon, the numbers are smaller but some homes near Ballyforan remain without power today along with 102 others in Kiltoom. Another fault is listed between Dysart and Curraghboy affecting 19 customers.

The majority of these faults are listed to be fixed and power restored by Saturday, August 21 at 1pm, with a smaller number due have power back by 11am.
