Castledaly's clash with The Downs set for Iarmhí TV treatment

The crunch clash of Castledaly and The Downs in the Westmeath SFC will be streamed live on Iarmhí TV this Sunday.

As with all other Westmeath GAA fixtures this weekend, the game will take place behind closed doors (Milltown, throw-in 3.30pm), and the winner will progress to the Westmeath SFC quarter-finals.

Both sides lost to Rosemount in their opening game, with Castledaly's defeat by a narrower margin. As a consequence, a draw will be enough for Castledaly to advance, but only a win will do for The Downs.

The prize on offer for the team which gets through is a quarter-final clash with senior county champions Garrycastle.

The first game to be shown live on Iarmhí TV this weekend is the Westmeath Intermediate FC clash between Milltown and neighbours Ballynacargy tonight (Friday), 8.15pm.

In addition, the following two Westmeath SFC matches will be shown on Iarmhí TV: Mullingar Shamrocks v Killucan (Saturday) and Tyrrellspass v Shandonagh (Sunday). Both of those games are listed to start at 6.45pm.

Meanwhile, Athlone will take on Caulry in Tang on Saturday evening, with a SFC quarter-final meeting against Rosemount awaiting the winner.

In the Westmeath IFC, Ballymore will advance to the quarter-finals if they can beat Bunbrosna on Saturday, while Maryland and Kilbeggan Shamrocks will do battle in Athlone on Sunday (see fixtures below).

In both the Westmeath SFC and IFC, the four teams whic don't make the quarter-finals will enter the relegation play-offs.

There had been speculation that Westmeath GAA would suspend fixtures until the ban on spectators would be lifted, but officials decided to proceed with this weekend's games at a meeting earlier this week - see story HERE.
