Midlands takeaway uses drones for home deliveries

A midlands takeaway is delivering food to customers' homes by drone.

Supermacs in the Barack Obama Plaza in Moneygall are delivering all of their home orders by drone as part of a trial with operators Manna Aero.

Henry Healy, the operations manager in the Barack Obama Plaza, believes that drone deliveries are particularly suitable for rural areas.

“I think it would be much harder in a city centre location where you have a lot more blocks of apartments to deliver directly to the doorstep...It is the way forward. It has been mooted for many years that drone deliveries were going to happen but little did we think a number of years ago that we would be one of the first communities to engage in it,” he told Midlands 103.
