Mixed fortunes for Buccaneers under-15s

Buccaneers U-15s have had mixed luck in recent weeks. They lost their unbeaten league record in Monivea a couple of weeks ago when a depleted squad travelled to the Co. Galway club and got well beaten by a very strong Monivea team. Their lack of match practice was cruelly exposed. They also lost one of their star players, Simon Garvey, with a torn calf muscle in that match: an injury that will keep him out of action for up to two months. Among their try scorers against Monivea were Cian O"Reilly and Colm Conroy. A few days later they beat Gallen Community School, Ferbane, in a close fought encounter at Dubarry Park. Among the try scorers in that match were Dylan Lynch and Ryan Sheridan. Buccaneers then travelled to Ennis to play the local team and had a very good win. Among their try scorers were Scott Flanagan, and Ryan Sheridan, with two each and Keith McKiernan. Unfortunately, Scott got injured while scoring his second try: an injury that was later revealed as a fractured bone in his upper arm. This injury may keep him out for up to three months. Cian Bradley was also injured in this match (ankle). Michael Duddy also has a long term injury (knee). Luckily Buccaneers have a big squad of players and each one is going to be needed for the remainder of the season. Everyone connected with the team wishes all a speedy recovery.
