Millmore Gaels: Last Friday evening saw the communities of Milltown and Ballymore come together to celebrate one of the most successful years in the history of the Millmore Gaels club. A huge crowd congregated in the Community Centre, in Ballymore to present medals to the under 16 and 18 teams. Opening the evening club Chairman Edward Somers thanked all those who attended and paid tribute to the mentors and parents without whose support the club would not achieve half the success it has. He also paid special tribute to Denis O"Roarke who apart from being the clubs Secretary and Treasurer also acts as a Mentor, Driver, Trainer and whose enthusiasm sums up the spirit within the club. The medals were presented to both teams by Paddy Martin, Ballymore GAA and Micky Dillion, Milltown GAA. The evening finished with Fr Smith PP thanking everyone in attendance and again thanking the people behind the scenes from both communities who work together to make the club so successful. Refreshments were then supplied by Jackie Kincaid and John and Mary McNeill. Congratulations to all players" supports and everyone connected with the club. Here"s to an even better 2009! Chiropody Clinic. The Chiropody clinic for this month takes place in the community Centre today, Wednesday, January 28, from 12 noon onwards. Thursday Club Please note that the Thursday Club reopens this coming Thursday, January 29, in the Ballymore Community Centre. New members welcome. Fr Dalton"s Hurling Please note that there is a registration night planned for this coming Friday, January 30, in Ballymore Community Centre between 7pm - 9pm. Registration is required for all 5yr - 12yr children who wish to play for the club this year. All welcome. Ballymore Community Games Soccer There are two teams entered into this year"s competition - over 10/under 15, and over 15/under 17 yrs. The blitz will take place in Gainstown on Sunday 8th February, 2009. Art/Swimming/Gymnastics/Athletics The Community Games will be holding registration day for the above sports/activities in due course. Watch this space for details. Baptism Congratulations to the parents of Matthew Christopher Murphy who was baptised recently. Regular events. Monday Traditional Music lessons have been arranged from 3.30pm to 5.30pm every Monday in the Community Centre. All ages and standards are welcome. Monday night is Bingo night in Ballymore. Regulars will already know that there are great prizes on offer and the craic is mighty. So if you haven"t managed to come along so far why not give it a try, meet up with old friends and make new ones, eyes down from 8pm. If anyone would like to help run the Bingo the Community Centre Committee would love to here from you. Please speak to one of them on the evening. Wednesday Ballymore"s indoor bowls club meet every Wednesday evening in the Community Centre from 8pm. The Club has been a successful part of the Community for a number of years now and is always on the look out for new talent as well as those who just want to bowl socially. Why not call in tonight and one of the members would be only too happy to show you around and help get you started. Flat shoes are required. Thursday Club The Thursday Club from 2.30pm in the Community Centre. New members are always welcome. Ballymore Youth Club - Every Thursday 9 - 12 yrs 7 -8pm and 13 - 17 yrs 8.15 - 9.15pm. Friday Boher Foroige 7.30pm - 9pm in the Boher Hall. New Members always welcome. Sunday The choir meet every Sunday evening and would welcome new members to come along and join them
