Final Kilbeggan races of season tonight
The racing at Kilbeggan for this season concludes this afternoon (Friday, September 6), starting at the earlier time of 4.35pm.
In terms of the racing season at Kilbeggan, the star of the year was Double Seven who won at three consecutive meetings including the Midlands National for trainer Martin Brassil and owner J.P. McManus. Many useful horses raced in Kilbeggan this year, and many of them are worth noting for the future.
This Friday, the European Breeder’s Fund are sponsoring the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund mares hurdle; the Midland Breeders Supporting Kilbeggan Beginners Steeplechase is again being sponsored by the Midland Breeders Supporting Kilbeggan; and the Kilbeggan Patron’s Club are also sponsoring a race at the meeting. The Greville Arms Leading Jockey Award has an unusual look about it with Mark Enright and Davy Condon joint leaders on 4 winners just ahead of Andrew Lynch and Mark Walsh on 3 winners.
The Paddy Dunican Auctioneer & Valuer Leading Trainer Award has a more familiar look about it with Dessie Hughes & Noel Meade joint leaders on six winners and Willie Mullins just one behind. It should all add up to another thrilling day’s racing.
Make sure to arrive early to enjoy the occasion and don’t forget the first race is at 4.35pm.
