Tubberclair Glasson Notes

Road disruption: A one-way system for traffic is in place for the next five weeks as a result of the closure of the Low Road, Glasson, for sewerage scheme works. The works came in to effect last Tuesday and will continue until September 8 next to facilitate pipelaying for the new Glasson/Ballykeeran/Coosan sewerage scheme. Heavy vehicle traffic is asked to divert via Roscommon and Mullingar instead. Ballymahon Walking Club The following are some of the walks on Wednesday evenings for July and August and everyone is welcome to join the group. August 5 the group will head to Glasson departing Ballymahon Mart at 8pm. August 12 the walk is along the canal and, again the starting point is Ballymahon Mart at 8pm. Then on August 19, the group heads for Newcastle Forest and everyone is asked to congregate at Newcastle Bridge at 8pm. On August 26 there will be another walk in the canal area after meeting at Ballymahon Mart at 8pm. For further information please call 087 9937533. Cemetery Day Cemetery Day takes place on Sunday, August 16, next at 3pm. Youth 2000 Summer Festival The Youth 2000 Summer Festival takes place in Clonmacnois from Thursday, August 13, to Sunday, August 16. For young people aged 16-35, it's an opportunity not to be missed to experience the Catholic faith and meet many new friends. Bishop Frank Caggiano, Vicar of Evangelisation in the Diocese of Brooklyn will be the main speaker at the event. New Pre-School Glasson Pre-School opening in September in the Heritage Centre.
