Athlone Widows Association: Athlone Widows' Association monthly meeting in the Shamrock Lodge, 2nd September, at 8pm. If you have been bereaved and would like the support of others with similar experience, please come to our meeting - new members are especially welcome. St Kieran's Community Centre Tuesday night Bingo is still going strong. Bingo commences at 8.30pm Line Dancing Classes take place in the centre on Wednesday night, starting at 8.30pm to 9.30pm. Cover charge is 3. All are welcome to attend. From beginners to experts, all are catered for. Are you a Fred or a Ginger? Ballroom dancing classes recommencing in September on Wednesday 8.45pm and Thursday from 7pm to 8pm. Want to get rid of a few pounds? Boot camp keep fit sessions on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings from 7.30am to 8.30am. Names are being taken for computer and cookery classes for September. Places are filling up fast. Coosan Family Day Coosan Family Day will take place this year on Sunday, September 6 at 12 noon. Guest speaker will be Micky Harte, Tyrone manager. A great day of music and entertainment promised for all. Organisers appeal to parishioners to donate homemade buns, cakes and light refreshments for Family Day by dropping them into Coosan Presbytery on Saturday evening 5th Sept or Sunday morning 6th. Coosan Youth Choir Will be starting back after holidays on Friday, September 11 at 7.45pm in the Church. All members are requested to attend. New members are welcome, must be in 5th or 6th class. Thank You To everyone who supported, baked cakes and gave raffle prizes for the cake sale at Kathleen Brady's, Coosan. A total of €2,350.00 was raised for South Westmeath Hospice. Ballykeeran Duck Race Will take place on Saturday, August 29 at 4pm. As usual it will be on the Breensford River in the local camp site. This year we are going to incorporate some additional activities, such as sack races, horseshoe throwing, golf putting.
