Bloomsday Recital at Athlone Castle
Athlone Castle is preparing to celebrate Bloomsday on Saturday by having an exciting literary recital starting at 2pm, with several of Athlone's well-known writers, who will read passages from some of James Joyce's famous novels.
The world wide festival celebrates June 16, 1904, the day depicted in Irish novelist and poet, James Joyce's novel Ulysses. The day is named after Leopold Bloom, the central character in Ulysses.
