"Possible heat wave conditions setting in"
We could potentially be set for what Met Eireann has described as 'heatwave' conditions next week.
According to Met Eireann, the coming weekend will see warmer and sunnier weather with temperature values reaching mid-twenties (warmest on Sunday).
It said temperatures could climb further into next week with “possible heat wave conditions setting in”.
The national forecaster has also predicted temperatures of up to 27 degrees on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, meteorologist Cathal Nolan, who runs the Midland Weather Channel on Facebook, said in a post on his channel: “Conditions from Thursday onwards are expected to become warm, dry and sunny with temperatures reaching well into the twenties in many places.”
He continued: “The latest weather models continue to indicate that a large area of high pressure is expected to become established across the country during the coming week.”
“Temperatures throughout the forecast period will range typically between 22-24 degrees Celsius in light and variable winds.”
