The Athlone natives featured this week.

Series on locals abroad continues in this week's Westmeath Independent

People from Athlone and surrounding areas have been telling us all about how they're coping with life during lockdown for a popular feature series which continues in this week's Westmeath Independent.

In recent weeks, our readers have heard from Athlone people living everywhere from Mexico to Malaga, from Australia to Abu Dhabi, and from Bahrain to the Big Apple.

Over four pages in this week's paper, we interview London residents Claire Timon, from Parnell Square, and Kiltoom's Caoimhe O'Reilly who is working on the frontline for the NHS.

From the US, we feature Athlone natives Aisling Egan Hanna in New Jersey and Renée Chadwick Melvin in Pennsylvania. We get the thoughts of three teachers from the Athlone area who are working in the United Arab Emirates; Lynn Fitzsimons, Louise Farrell and Amber Flynn.

Meanwhile, Retreat Heights native Kevin Quinn tells us about life with his family in Malaga, where "lockdown means lockdown".

"We are all ok. The only fever we have is cabin fever!" Kevin told us.

You can read each of their stories in this week's Westmeath Independent. Our paper is available in shops now, and if you can't get to the shop an ePaper (digital edition) of the paper can be purchased, anywhere in the world, through this link: https://www.westmeathindependent.ie/epaper

The 'Abroad In Uncertain Times' feature will continue, with stories from more locals who are overseas, next week.
