Death toll now reaches nine
Two more people diagnosed with COVID-19 have died, bringing the total deaths associated with the virus in Ireland to nine.
The Department of Health, said that the two patients who died were a man and a woman from the east of the country.
The woman involved had an underlying health condition.
As of 1pm today, there were 235 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ireland, bringing the total to 1,564 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ireland.
As of midnight on Monday, there were 25 confirmed cases in Westmeath, up four from midnight on Sunday.
In Roscommon, on midnight on Monday, there remained five or fewer confirmed cases.
