Athlone Anglers Association holds McCallon Cup competition on Lough Ree

Athlone Anglers Association held the McCallon Cup trout competition on Lough Ree on Sunday, April 6.

There was plenty of sun on the day, and a good easterly wind. Fishing conditions were tough. There was a good turnout of boats at the shoreline.

On the day, first place went to Paddy McManus and Joe Crampton. Second place went to Paul Fallon and Richie Fallon.

Third place went to Gerry Wykes and Gay Wykes, and in fourth place was Anthony Moran and Reece Moran.

Athlone Anglers Association thanked Martin Monaghan and Anthony Moran, who were captains of the day. Raffle winners were Paddy McManus and Joe Crampton.

A total of thirty-one boats took part in the competition.
