Community spirit will shine brightly this Friday, March 28, when well known Athlone woman Liz Gilhooly hosts an annual Daffodil Day coffee morning in the Sheraton Hotel in aid of the Irish Cancer Society.

The coffee morning will take place from 10am to 12.30pm, this fully accessible occasion receiving support from a number of local businesses, who have donated an array of raffle prizes for this worthy Daffodil Day cause.

Prior to the event, Leah Fletcher of Athlone-based wellness brand deDANÚ, spoke effusively about Liz and the positive impact she continues to have within the local community.

"In the heart of Athlone few individuals embody the community spirit quite like Liz Gilhooly.

"Liz's dedication transforms the coffee morning into more than just a fundraiser, it's a simple of hope and solidarity for all affected.

"It is heartening to see the community come together, each contribution reflecting Athlone's collective spirit.
