Young local musicians to join special international concert in Athlone
Young musicians from Athlone, Moate and Canada will join forces for a special cross-cultural concert on Saturday, March 22, in the Count John McCormack Hall, TÚS, Athlone. The Athlone Youth Orchestra and musicians from Moate Community School will perform alongside the Magee High School Band (Canada) in a celebration of music and international collaboration.
This unique concert promises a vibrant programme blending classical, contemporary, and traditional music, offering audiences a chance to experience an exciting fusion of styles and cultures.
Athlone Youth Orchestra, founded through Music Generation Westmeath, offers a welcoming space for young musicians aged 8-18. Open to all skill levels, the orchestra focuses on nurturing a love of music, learning and teamwork, inspiring children and teens to grow and create music together.
