Lidl sweet treat is recalled due to 'burning sensation in the mouth'

The Food Safety Authority of Ireland has issued a recall for a batch of a chocolate-covered snack sold in Lidl, because it "may cause a burning sensation in the mouth" when eaten.

The recall notice was issued today in respect of a batch of the milk chocolate and dark chocolate versions of Lidl's Alpenfest Style Salted Mini Pretzels.

The affected batch has a code of 8509, and a best before date of February 28, 2025.

The Food Safety Authority advised the public not to eat the implicated batch and said recall notices would be displayed in stores that stocked the product.
