Boher NS presented with film award prizes

Boher NS in Ballycumber has received 30 Samsung Tablets and a 55” Samsung Flip Pro Digital Flipboard, after winning the Roscommon Mini Motion Picture Film Festival with its short film Down With That Sort of Thing.

On Thursday, January 16, Darran Shaw, a representative from Samsung, visited Boher National School to present the equipment.

Principal Paul McKeon said: "The whole experience, from the workshops to the festival, was incredible for our children. Believe it or not, we were actually in the process of purchasing a set of tablets for the school, so the timing couldn’t be better!

"The money that we had commissioned for new tablets can now be spent on other IT resources here. This new equipment will make a significant difference to our students’ learning experience.

"I am truly grateful to Lee, Aideen, Darran and all the school staff for their efforts in making this happen. I hope this whole campaign inspires more children to engage in such extracurricular activities."
