Kiltoom native to host auction in aid of LA wildfire relief
Kiltoom auctioneer Martin Nolan is set to host a fundraising auction to help provide relief to musicians affected by the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles.
Mr Nolan is hosting the event which is entitled The Julien's Auctions MusiCares Charity Relief Auction.
The Hodson Bay native is the co-founder and Executive Director of Julien's Auctions and its upcoming event will feature memorabilia from some legendary music and pop culture icons. It will be held on the night of the 67th Grammy Awards, Sunday, February 2.
The auction, held in conjunction with the MusiCares Persons of the Year celebration, aims to "raise essential funds that help music professionals recover from crises, including the unprecedented challenges posed by the recent wildfires in greater Los Angeles."
Mr Nolan said Julien's Auctions was "proud to partner again with MusiCares to celebrate the gift of music and its power to inspire and heal the world in our annual charity relief initiative.
"From signed guitars from The Boss (Bruce Springsteen) to Olivia Rodrigo, to stage worn outfits from Dolly Parton to global sensation NewJeans, the best of the best will be offered in this incomparable opportunity to own a piece of music history while making a difference," he added.
Included in the memorabilia being auctioned on the night is a colourful concert setlist handwritten by lead singer Chris Martin for Coldplay's Music Of The Spheres World Tour performance at Croke Park in Dublin on August 29 last
The item is of an estimated value of between $800 to $1,200, or roughly €780 to €1160.
More incredible items from several yet-to-be-revealed artists, including MusiCares 2025 Persons of the Year honorees The Grateful Dead, are due to be unveiled in the coming days.
