Aldi announces recruitment drive for 12 jobs in Westmeath

Supermarket chain Aldi has announced a recruitment drive in Westmeath, saying it currently has 12 positions available in the county.

The retailer, which celebrated 25 years in Ireland last year, said it's looking to recruit new team members for its network of stores, including four in Westmeath

Aldi has stores in Athlone and Kinnegad and two in Mullingar.

It said the 12 open roles in Westmeath "are a mix of both new jobs and backfill positions".

The current starting rate for store assistants and warehouse operatives is €14.80 per hour, which Aldi described as a "market-leading" rate and one which exceeds the current rate set by The Living Wage Technical Group.
