Westmeath captain named as U14 panel is selected
Fiona Coyle has been appointed as captain of the Westmeath senior ladies football team for the upcoming season.
In announcing Coyle’s appointment as captain, Westmeath LGFA said the St Mary’s Rochfortbridge player “has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities, dedication to the sport, and an unwavering commitment to the team”.
“Her skill, experience, and passion for football make her the ideal choice to lead us both on and off the pitch,” Westmeath LGFA added.
Westmeath will begin their Lidl National Football League Division 2 campaign with an away game against Cork at Páirc Uí Rinn on Saturday, January 25 (throw-in 2pm).
2024 All-Ireland senior finalists Galway are also in Division 2 and considering the calibre of opposition facing them, Frank Browne’s charges will be glad to have four home games out of seven. Donegal, Clare, Roscommon and Monaghan are the four counties who will travel to Westmeath as part of the Division 2 programme of fixtures.
