Moate Community School to reopen on Friday

Moate Community School, which was closed due to the freezing conditions both yesterday (Wednesday) and today, has announced it will be open as usual on Friday.

Another status orange weather warning for low temperatures is in place in Westmeath and other Midlands counties overnight, but it is due to be lifted by 8am on Friday.

In a social media post, the local secondary school said: "With the forecast improving, the school will reopen tomorrow, Friday, 10 January.

"Bus services will also resume as scheduled in the morning.

"We appreciate your cooperation and understanding during this time. We look forward to welcoming everyone back," added Moate Community School.
