Ballymahon group invests €4,000 in lifesaving equipment
Ballymahon Defibrillator Group has invested almost €4,000 on lifesaving equipment and training.
Over the past year, six defibrillators in the town have been fitted with new seven-year batteries and pads.
In total, Ballymahon has ten public access defibrillators which can be used in the case of an emergency.
The group has thanked Bridgeways Family Resource Centre Ballymahon for facilitating the training courses, Maxol/Centra Ballymahon for sponsoring the nine-volt batteries for each unit, Ballymahon Greenway Cycles for donating a projector screen which is used at the training sessions, and Chris Martin, who is revamping the groups laptop free of charge so they can continue to carry out their training programme to members of the community.
Ballymahon Defibrillator Group is now taking names for its January classes.
CPR and defibrillator training with the group is free of charge.
