Keys handed over to 26 newly-completed homes in Moate

The developer of Moate's Gort an Locha estate said keys were recently presented to the owners of 26 homes in the new estate on Lake Road.

A statement on behalf of Fitzpatrick and Heavey Homes said it had been focusing on completing as many handovers as possible before the end of the 2024 at both Gort an Locha and its Aldborough Manor development in Baltinglass, Wicklow.

It said 40 new homes had recently been completed in the two developments, with 26 of these in Moate.

Last year and this year, Westmeath County Council invited applications for 22 homes in the development under an affordable housing scheme.

A spokesperson for Fitzpatrick and Heavey Homes said the housing handovers that had been completed there involved a mixture of both affordable and privately-purchased housing.

The developer added that it recently "embraced the spirit of Christmas" by surprising the 40 new homeowners in Moate and Baltinglass with a festive gift box as they received the keys to their homes.

Each new homeowner was presented with the gift box containing a bottle of champagne, a bespoke 'New Home' Christmas tree ornament, and a card.

The gifts were hand-delivered by Fitzpatrick and Heavey Homes' CEO, Ciaran Fitzpatrick, adding a personal touch to the gesture.

"There's no better time to celebrate the joy of moving into a new home than at Christmas," commented Mr Fitzpatrick.

"We wanted to make this milestone even more memorable for our homeowners by adding a festive touch and personally sharing in their excitement."
