Santa Claus all set for Lough Ree RNLI Christmas Open Day
Santa Claus will be taking time out from his hectic schedule to attend the Christmas Open day at Lough Ree RNLI boathouse at Coosan Point this Saturday, December 14.
Lough Ree Station Visits Officer Paul Kelly said: "We have had a very special year welcoming visitors to our new facility.
"Among the most enthusiastic are our younger supporters and we are delighted that they will have the opportunity to meet Santa at the Christmas Open Day."
The free event will have a particular focus on children, with a kids DJ providing the music, a special face painting booth, and Santa arriving by boat to his special grotto in the lifeboat station at 2.30pm.
The volunteer crew at Lough Ree RNLI will also welcome fellow first responders from Athlone Fire Service, An Garda Siochana and the Defence Forces who will be at Coosan Point for the afternoon.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to experience a fleet of vintage cars which will be on display.
The RNLI pop-up shop will also be open for the afternoon, with the full range of RNLI Christmas Cards, along with many new products marking charity’s 200th anniversary next year, and a wide range of stocking fillers.
