Defence Forces bands set for annual Athlone Rotary concert

The Combined Bands of the Defence Forces will perform in the Radisson Blu Hotel, Athlone on Thursday, November 7 next, at 7.30pm, in a concert organised jointly by Rotary and the Defence Forces in Athlone.

Last year's concert in aid of St Hilda's was a sell-out success. This year's concert is in aid of the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association (IMNDA). The Army Benevolent Fund will also receive a contribution for needy ex-soldiers.

This year's guest artist is well-known Irish soprano, Keli-Ann Masterson. The Pipes of the Defence Forces playing solo or with the band are always very popular and will also make an appearance.

Sean O’Laoide, President of the Rotary Club of Athlone, said that the concert with the combined bands of the Defence Forces has now become an annual event and this year we are delighted to support the Motor Neurone Association who do such good work for motor neurone sufferers.

Tickets are €25 and can be purchased online, at eventmaster.ie, or at the Radisson Hotel or McGorisk’s Pharmacy
