Shock at sudden death of Cllr John Naughten

Fine Gael councillor John Naughten has passed away.

The Drum native, who was recently chosen to contest the next general election in the Roscommon/Galway constituency, died last night.

The news has been met with an outpouring of shock and sadness in the South Roscommon and Athlone areas.

He was a member of Roscommon County Council for over 20 years, and his family are deeply embedded in the political and community life of the county.
