Athlone native Daniel Sierpinski made a splash in the fashion world when he took part in three shows during London Fashion Week.

The 18-year-old was in London from August 5 for preparations, with fashion week running from August 13 to 17.

Daniel walked for names such as Buerlangma, Vincent Lee and Global Fashion Scout across the week, in an experience the young man calls “a dream”.

Speaking to the Westmeath Independent this week about the experience, Daniel said: “It was quite nerve-wracking but I had a wonderful team behind me from Ros Model Management in Ireland, and Another Mother in London - it was a lovely experience.

“Before the shows there was a lot of photographers and other people. I was a bit shaky – but it has been a dream of mine for a while.”

The Athlone Community College student was invited to London by modelling agency Another Mother.

The 18-year-old said it was his first time walking for shows of such a high calibre.

“I had a small charity show for Born in Ireland before, and it was pretty cool. It was an experience.”

Daniel, who comes from Retreat Road in Athlone, also casted for brands like Jimmy Choo and Helen Anthony.

When asked how it feels returning to school after the high of fashion week, Daniel said: “It feels so good – everyone is congratulating me. All the lovely people from Athlone Community College have been so supportive.”
