Athlone drawn away from home in Women's FAI Cup

Holders Athlone Town will take on Treaty United in the quarter-finals of the Sports Direct Women's FAI Cup.

After receiving a bye into the final eight of the competition, Athlone will now travel to Markets Field after being drawn against Treaty United who overcame Ferns United in the second round.

With Treaty currently third from bottom in the league table, Athlone will fancy their chances of progressing. In the league meeting between the teams in June, Athlone claimed victory on a 1-0 scoreline, with Chloe Singleton scoring the goal.

Last year's runners-up Shelbourne will engage in a Dublin derby with Shamrock Rovers - who beat Wexford in a penalty shoot-out - while DLR Waves will come up against Sligo Rovers.

Bohemians' reward for knocking out Peamount United is a trip to Turner's Cross to face Cork City.

The quarter-finals will be played on the week ending Sunday, August 25.

Athlone's next game in the SSE Airtricity Women's Premier Division is at home to Sligo Rovers next Saturday, kick-off 7.30pm.

Having been beaten by Peamount United in their last league outing, Athlone are joint top of the table with Shelbourne on 28 points, with Shels in front by virtue of a better goal difference.
