Taoiseach to attend Tullamore Show

The Taoiseach Simon Harris is expected to attend the Tullamore Show & FBD National Livestock Show on Sunday week.

Entries to the show are at record level, with over 5,000 set to compete in hundreds of competitions and classes showcasing the very best of livestock and Irish farm produce.

The show will be officially opened by by Minister for Agriculture, Food and Marine Minister Charlie McConalogue with Taoiseach Simon Harris and Minister of State Martin Heydon also due to be in attendance at Butterfield Estate on Sunday August 11, according to the show organisers.

Ireland’s largest one day show, with a prize fund of €175,000 and over 400 trade stands Tullamore Show is expected to draw over 60,000 visitors.

Chairman of the Tullamore Show, Joe Molloy is looking forward to welcoming people back to experience the Show.

“Tullamore show has always been about showcasing the very best of the country’s agricultural produce and we hope that this year, more than ever, people will come out and support our producers and exhibitors,” he said.

Mr Molloy expressed his thanks to the show’s sponsors both local and national and to the over 400 volunteers without their time and support it would not be possible to stage the event.

“Tullamore Show has been a huge part of the country’s social calendar since the show was revived in 1991, and we are delighted to be keeping that tradition alive,” he added.
