Folk-Rock stars to perform at The Venue in Athlone

Folk-rock band Keywest are to play at The Venue in Athlone tomorrow, Saturday, July 20.

Described by The Irish Times as having “an infectious energy” and “catchy melodies” the band's performance is due to begin at 8.30pm.

Keywest found their foundation as buskers on the streets of Dublin, combining a folk rock sound with a magnetic stage presence; a prime combination for success.

Now selling out venues across the Ireland and the UK, Keywest have leapt from strength to strength.

Endorsed by Hot Press as having the ability to hold “a crowd in the palm of their hand”, Keywest have grown beyond their humble street-performance roots and can boast of 9 number one singles, 3 number one albums, and 3 nominations for the Irish Music Awards.

Alongside their growing success, the band often return to the streets to busk for passers by – allowing them to both stay grounded and connected to their fans, and offering an opportunity to experiment with new styles and sounds.
