Leinster League Final date for Milltown and Rosemount
Milltown will meet Rosemount in an all-Westmeath Leinster Football League final at Glenisk O’Connor Park, Tullamore on Sunday April 27.
The game is a curtain raiser for the Leinster SFC clash between Louth and Kildare.
Milltown have enjoyed a promising campaign to date. They produced an impressive all-round performance to see off Daingean, 3-18 to 0-12, round three of the Leinster Football League at home on Sunday April 6.
Daingean opened the scoring and enjoyed early possession, but Milltown soon found their rhythm. A superb goal from Henry Duncan and points from Daire Hynes and Ben McGauran helped the hosts take control. Conor Lynn added a spectacular long-range point, and by half-time Milltown led by 1-9 to 0-8.
Milltown maintained their intensity in the second half. McGauran and Gunning kept the scoreboard ticking, while Damian Byrne’s accurate kickouts laid the platform. Lynn netted Milltown’s second goal midway through the half, before Paul Mahon finished the contest with a third just before the final whistle.
Strong midfield work from Dylan and Jack Murtagh, and consistent performances from Jarlath Boyce, Alan Geraghty, and Gunning ensured Milltown stayed firmly in charge throughout.
They will be hoping to carry that form through to the final.
