€51,149 raised for Irish Cancer Society at Athlone Daffodil Day

Athlone once again showed its very generous side by raising a whopping €51,149 for the Irish Cancer Society as part of this year's Daffodil Day.

Generous donations were made by members of the public at collection points in local supermarkets and shopping centres, and a very special thank you has been extended to all the businesses who facilitated collectors on the day, and to the lead organisers for each centre.

The coffee morning hosted by Liz Gilhooley in the Sheraton Hotel on Daffodil Day topped the contribution list by raising the amazing sum of €13,500.

The hugely generous sum donated as a result of Liz Gilhooley's coffee morning contributed enormously to the overall total of €51,149 donated by Athlone, with all monies being donated directly to fund the work of the Irish Cancer Society.
