Tourist accommodation plan approved in Shannonbridge
A plan to provide short-term tourist accommodation at a residential dwelling on Main Street in Shannonbridge has been given the green light by Offaly County Council.
SJCR Limited sought planning permission last September for a change of use from a residential dwelling at Main Street (Raghra) in Shannonbridge to a five-bedroom short-term tourist accommodation building, with common ancillary facilities including bike store and onsite car parking to the rear.
Also proposed as part of the application was the demolition of a single-storey extension to the rear; adjustments to windows and doors, and a proposed two-storey extension to the rear; additional window openings; all internal modifications; rooflights, signage, boundary upgrades and all ancillary site works.
Planning for the project has been granted subject to eleven conditions, including that the proposed tourist accommodation should be used for short-term lettings only “for periods not be exceed 14 continuous days by a guest.”
